There are a few problems with the Yankees team this season. Yes they are playing some great baseball, and this may look like it is their year to shine. The problem becomes that the team is in a pitching problem.

This is due to the fact that the teams pitching rotation is showing signs of distress and as a result are beginning to slowly break down in their skills. There are few people that are able to see this, but a loyal fan can spot the problems.

If you look at the team from last season and the one from this season, there are differences that are barely noticeable, but they are there. Look at the speed that the pitches are being thrown, this will be a sure sign that things are breaking down, and then there is the actual delivery that has a lot of fans looking worried. There is a severe lack of consistency when it comes to the actual delivery of their pitching.

C.C Sabathia is only able to do so much as the leader of the bullpen, the rest depend on him to help lead them and get them into a position to close a game out. There will be the fans that say there is the player that can deliver either left handed or right handed. This is in fact true; the problem is that there needs to be more experience under his belt before he tries to take
the world on by himself.

There is the batting order that has been able to hold the whole thing together in order to keep the team from heading down the drain in regards to other teams outpitching them. Players like A-Rod and Jeter have been instrumental in making sure that the team is able to maintain their consistency when it comes to the batting order.

Take one look at the outfield, and you will see that the team is in bad shape in pitching. Even the outfield is showing the signs of wear in their playing. Players that one year ago would have made diving catches are barely getting to the ball in time to make a play. This is the biggest sign that the team is suffering from a depleted pitching rotation as they have to put out a lot more effort in order to get the plays made.

This is why the team needs to sit down and reevaluate the situation. They may be better off bringing up a few of the farm league players to take over for a few games and as a result allow them to rest their starters. Yes they will sacrifice a few games. This will be better to do now then wait and the problem gets a lot worse.

No matter what the team decides to do, there will need to be action taken eventually, the question is can the action be taken in order to save the season, or will pride cost the New York Yankees their best chance at a repeat title win?
