Looking at the Colts over the past couple of years, there is some wonder as to where be their desire and drive at? This was a team that a few years ago was unstoppable and was not able to be slowed. In the past couple of seasons, the Colts are looking like a team ready to be put out to pasture. While there is still a little bit of life left in the team, there needs to be a change in command and soon. This will not be a good year for the colts, if they are not able to get their head into the game.

Peyton Manning has done a remarkable job as the Quarterback for the team. There are few players that could have done the type of job that Manning has done with such perfection as he has. There is little work that needs to be done in the way of passing; the real work will come from the team as a whole looking to get on the road in the rushing game. This is where all of the major problems seem to be developing.

The running game is the one area that the Colts need to address in camps in the coming weeks, while many will say that there is time to correct this issue, there is also six weeks before the first preseason game. This will be the time that all the work for the past several months will be determined as a success or as a huge failure. If the running game is repaired, then the team will be looking at a great season that will see them heading to the Super Bowl once again this time with a win instead of a close second.

Regardless of the offensive situation, there needs to be a serious look at the defense. The team has had a hole in their defense that has leaked for some time. This leaking hole has led to the team being embarrassed in this year’s Super Bowl as they were unable to stop the New Orleans Saints. If there is not some work done about this, then the Colts will have a long season of watching the Saints run past them again this season. While many fans were hoping for a rematch of the Super Bowl, it looks like that won’t happen as the schedule does not have the two meeting.

There is a lot of hope that is still in the team’s fuel tank, there is a lot of a fan that is looking at the Colts as getting back to their winning ways, and become the only team in the NFL since the Dolphins to go undefeated. This may seem like a dream to a few, but the Colts are able to do it better than any other team in the league. 2010-2011 will be an interesting time to be a Colts fan; if you are truly a fan then you will be rewarded with the team doing things that many teams thought impossible. There will be several records shattered by the Colts.
